Instructions for Prospective Casual Sport Coaches, Tutors and Volunteers

Sydney Boys High school

Sport Coaches and Tutors, 18 Years of Age & Over

Step 1 
Apply for a Working With Children (WWC) number

ALL PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYEES MUST SUBMIT A “WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK”

Step 2

Contact the school on 02 9662 9300 to make an appointment with the School Administrative Officer (SAO) who will process your application.

Bring the following information to your appointment with the SAO:

  1. WWC Outcome Letter (not the application receipt)
  2. 100 points of ID. ID must be the original documents - A passport or birth certificate (70 points) and drivers licence (40 points) will satisfy the 100 point requirement. At least one document must be contain your photograph.
  3. Your BSB and Bank Account number
  4. Your Tax File number

Step 3

ALL PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYEES MUST ALSO SUBMIT A “DEPARTMENTAL EMPLOYMENT SCREENING”

Note document submission is by appointment only. Please be punctual.

THE RESULTS OF BOTH SCREENINGS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE SCHOOL BEFORE BEGINNING EMPLOYMENT

Results of the screenings are emailed to the relevant Master-in-Charge/Supervisor

STEP 4

You may begin employment when the Master-in-Charge/Supervisor has received the clearance notice from the processing SAO.


Sport Coaches and Tutors, Under 18 Years of Age

Step 1

Contact the school on 02 9662 9300 to make an appointment with the School Administrative Officer (SAO) who will process your application.

Note document submission is by appointment only. Please be punctual.

You may begin employment when your Master-in-Charge/Supervisor has received the clearance notice from the processing SAO

Step 2 - ONE MONTH BEFORE YOUR 18th BIRTHDAY
Apply for a WWC number

ALL EMPLOYEES 18 and OVER MUST SUBMIT A “WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK”

Step 3

THE RESULTS OF BOTH SCREENINGS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE SCHOOL BEFORE YOUR 18th BIRTHDAY

Results of the screenings are emailed to the relevant Master-in-Charge/Supervisor

It is the responsibility of the employee to ensure that the Working With Children Check and subsequent submission of the WWC Outcome Letter has been completed and received by the school before turning 18.

Employment will be suspended if the required documentation is not submitted.


Volunteers

Step 2

THE RESULTS OF BOTH VOLUNTEER WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK AND 100 POINT IDENTIFICATION VERIFICATION MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE SCHOOL BEFORE THE COMMENCEMENT OF DUTIES

Results of the screenings are emailed to the relevant Master-in-Charge/Supervisor

STEP 3

You may commence duties when your Master-in-Charge/Supervisor has received the clearance notice from the processing SAO.

Note: Volunteers must obtain a "Working with Children Check for Paid Workers" at a cost of $80 to the applicant before commencing any form of paid work.
