Instructions for Prospective Casual Sport Coaches, Tutors and Volunteers

Sport Coaches and Tutors

STEP 1 
Apply for a Working With Children (WWC) number

ALL PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYEES MUST SUBMIT A “WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK” for “PAID WORKERS”

Please note the earliest age you can apply for a WWC is 17 years, 9 months

STEP 2

Contact the school on 02 9662 9300 to make an appointment with the School Administrative Officer (SAO) who will process your application.

Bring the following information to your appointment with the SAO:

  1. WWC Outcome Letter (not the application receipt)
  2. Four identity documents. Each must be the original document. You must supply a commencement document, a primary document and two secondary documents. Refer to the Guide to Identity Documents to determine valid forms of identity in each category.
  3. Your BSB and bank account number.
  4. Your Tax File Number.

STEP 3

ALL PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYEES MUST ALSO SUBMIT A “Declaration for children related work – National Criminal History Check”

Note document submission is by appointment only. Please be punctual.

THE RESULTS OF BOTH SCREENINGS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE SCHOOL BEFORE BEGINNING EMPLOYMENT

Results of the screenings are emailed to the relevant Manager-in-Charge/Supervisor

STEP 4

You may begin employment when the Manager-in-Charge/Supervisor has received the clearance notice from the processing SAO.


Volunteers

STEP 1 
Apply for a Working With Children (WWC) number

ALL PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYEES MUST SUBMIT A “WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK for VOLUNTEERS”

STEP 2

Contact the school on 02 9662 9300 to make an appointment with the School Administrative Officer (SAO) who will process your application.

Bring the following information to your appointment with the SAO:

  1. WWC Outcome Letter (not the application receipt)
  2. 100 points of identification. Each identity document must be the original document. A passport or birth certificate (70 points) and drivers licence (40 points) will satisfy the 100 point requirement. At least one document must be contain your photograph.

Note document submission is by appointment only. Please be punctual.

THE RESULTS OF BOTH VOLUNTEER WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK AND 100 POINT IDENTIFICATION VERIFICATION MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE SCHOOL BEFORE THE COMMENCEMENT OF DUTIES

Results of the screenings are emailed to the relevant Manager-in-Charge/Supervisor

STEP 3

You may commence duties when your Manager-in-Charge/Supervisor has received the clearance notice from the processing SAO.

Note: Before commencing any form of paid work a volunteer must obtain all the approvals of a paid worker detailed in the section "Sport Coaches and Tutors", above. This includes obtaining a "Working with Children Check for Paid Workers" (at a cost of $80 to the applicant) as well as provide the requisite further identity documents and making a declaration for a National Criminal History Check.
