Instructions for Prospective Casual Sport Coaches, Tutors
and Volunteers
Sport Coaches and Tutors
STEP 1
Apply for a Working With Children (WWC) number
ALL PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYEES MUST SUBMIT A “WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK” for
“PAID WORKERS”
Please note the earliest age you can apply for a WWC is 17 years, 9
months
STEP 2
Contact the school on 02 9662 9300 to make an appointment with the School
Administrative Officer (SAO) who will process your application.
Bring the following information to your appointment with the SAO:
- WWC Outcome Letter (not the application receipt)

100 points of ID. ID must be the original documents - A
passport or birth certificate (70 points) and drivers licence (40
points) will satisfy the 100 point requirement. At least one document must be contain your photograph.
- Your BSB and Bank Account number
- Your Tax File number
STEP 3
ALL PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYEES MUST ALSO SUBMIT A “Declaration for children
related work – Specified volunteer/child related contractor”
- Forms are available from the School Administrative Officer processing
applications. This is located in the school's McDonald Wing office.
- Please allow approximately 20 minutes to complete the Department of Education Screening and
remaining documentation
- Office Hours are 9.00am to 3.00pm.
Note document submission is by appointment only. Please be
punctual.
THE RESULTS OF BOTH SCREENINGS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE
SCHOOL BEFORE BEGINNING EMPLOYMENT
Results of the screenings are emailed to the relevant
Master-in-Charge/Supervisor
STEP 4
You may begin employment when the Master-in-Charge/Supervisor has received the clearance notice from
the processing SAO.
Volunteers

VOLUNTEERS”
STEP 2

THE RESULTS OF BOTH VOLUNTEER WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK AND 100 POINT IDENTIFICATION VERIFICATION MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE SCHOOL BEFORE
THE COMMENCEMENT OF DUTIES
Results of the screenings are emailed to the relevant
Master-in-Charge/Supervisor
STEP 3
You may commence duties when your Master-in-Charge/Supervisor has received the clearance notice from
the processing SAO.
Note: Volunteers must obtain a "Working with Children Check
for Paid Workers" at a cost of $80 to the applicant before commencing any form
of paid work.
