The facilities our boys currently enjoy, at a fraction of the cost of a private school, were made possible not only by government funding but through significant generous donations by past generations of parents and students. Sydney Boys High has only been able to achieve what it has in the course of its 130 year history because parents, old boys and other members of the High family have joined together to build the future of the School.
The next targeted project for Sydney Boys High School Building Fund is a new
Multipurpose Centre, which is urgently needed to expand and upgrade our
teaching, examination, performing arts and debating facilities and free up much
needed classrooms in the existing buildings. This is a major capital works
commitment that includes the design and construction of a new two level
building, The Governors Centre for Excellence in Education, a joint project of
Sydney Boys High School and Sydney Girls High School. The building will front
Cleveland Street, located between the two schools on the site of the Sydney
Girls High School tennis court.
The Centre is planned to incorporate:
a 400 seat auditorium
a 400 square metre multipurpose flat floor space with moveable internal
walls, suitable for classrooms, meeting rooms and examination spaces
specialist music rehearsal and tuition rooms
performance and debating spaces
a commanding entrance foyer with kiosk, cloak, toilet and change room
facilities

The Department of Education and Communities supports the School’s plans but it
is uncertain what their level of funding (if any) would be. We currently have
over $1,500,000 on term deposit donated by parents and past students.
Our school is now commencing a Capital Works Campaign to fundraise for this building. We invite your participation in this project in the form of a tax deductible donation. Please see our appeal letter and donation forms on the project donations page.
